“Raptor” this… Jurassic Park – The ride (Theme Parkaholics)

It’s summer and it’s hot, and almost everyone loves Chris Pratt. At least I do. In other words, I watched Jurassic World and I LOVED IT!

In lieu of my love for this movie, I want to share an enjoyable summer ride that combines a great relief for the heat and for all those dinosaur lovers out there!

At Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando they have this super great ride called Jurassic Park – The Ride! Original huh?

This is probably one of my favorite rides at Universal Studios (I’ve only been to the Hollywood one and Harry Potter World doesn’t get there until next year).

I think this ride is perfect for a little heat relief and a little thrill. While they usually close this ride during its wintertime, this summer is quite a perfect time to ride it. And if you’re in California almost any other season it’s perfect to ride it.

To get to this ride you’ll have to get to the very back of the park and get to the lower lots. Meaning you’ll have to take what seems like a million escalators down some steep incline to make it here.

But once you make it to the bottom you’ll get that dramatic entrance. All wild and Jurassic Park-y, it’s hard to miss it.

Since it’s definitely a ride that you’ll most like get wet, I opted to not bring my camera onto the ride with me.

Basically this ride takes you on a jeep safari into Jurassic Park circa 1993. Unfortunately it’s not like those cool pods like in the Jurassic World.

You’ll get to see quite bit of great dinosaurs that are friendly, until things get a bit dangerous. You’ll end up meeting Mr. T. Rex himself and then boom the fun begins.

And by fun, I mean the best part of this water ride, the drop.

As you can see, people do get wet on this ride. But I believe it can be a bit of a hit or miss in almost any of the seats for this ride. So I’d take precaution and probably hid all electronics or if you really want I believe they sell some ponchos at the store.

I personally love this drop; it gets me every time I ride it. I mean it starts off relaxing and great and then BAM it turns into a thrill ride.

I love water rides that get you wet and all, but word of advice on hot muggy days, sticky wet jeans, not a fun time for almost anyone.

Now everyone go see Jurassic World, or if you really didn’t like it go watch Jurassic Park again. Either is amazing.
