Considering it’s the last day of Fall and tomorrow is the first day of Winter, I decided to list why Fall is such an amazing season to enjoy.
Now I’ve only been to Europe once and I’m really no expert, but here’s my reasons why Europe is best seen in Fall.
1. The colors – Seasons are changing and the beautiful Fall colors are arriving everywhere. From leaves to fashion. Fall is hit big with it’s wonderful colors in Europe
2. Less tourists – In my opinion, it didn’t seem too crowded during our time in Europe near the end of October. There were still some tourists, but not too many places ever felt so overcrowded that it ever became overwhelming for us.
3. Cheaper – When I was doing all my research for Europe, I’ve seen hotel prices, flights, restaurants, etc. ranging to be so much more expensive just a month earlier than when we went in the Fall. It’s pretty intense, so we saved quite a bit by going during the Fall off-season.
4. Feeling more like a local – The locals seem to be out more and doing their usual local things considering the high tourist season is no longer there. It felt like to walk among locals and really get the feel of when they go to work and how they spend their day in their beautiful cities. Plus don’t we all want to be like the cool hip European locals?
5. Weather – Being from Southern California the sun is always there and beaming, even when Fall and Winter come along, it can still be very hot. While I do enjoy that and so many other people enjoy it as well, but I love the Fall breeze. And when we went, the Fall breeze was in full blast and I loved it. Maybe we got very lucky during our 2 week stay in Europe, but it only heavily rained one day. And then the other half of the time, it seemed Alex and I didn’t even need our jackets with us for the weather was just perfect.
So these are my five reasons why I think Europe is much better in the Fall. I have yet to endure it during the other three seasons and I’m sure there are many other reasons for it being better to come during each season. But Fall, to me, is a wonderful time to explore the beautiful European cities. And pretty much any city for that matter.
Enjoy the last day Fall my travelers! And brace yourselves for the winter to come, Happy Holidays all!
